In 1984, The ProMotion Wetsuits Company moved operations north to open a factory and showroom in Hood River, Oregon. Located on the Columbia River, and well known as a top windsurfing and kiteboarding destination, the "Gorge" has proven to be an unbeatable location to design and test all of our wetsuits. Temperatures here range from below freezing in the winter, to above 100 degrees in the summer, giving us the opportunity to test and refine every product in the line.
With 1000's of ProMotion clad users getting on the water each season, obviously, our wetsuits get plenty of R & D. Maybe not as well known is the number of whitewater and kayak destinations in the area that serve as the proving grounds for our Paddle Sport wetsuits. Triathletes and open water swimmers from all over the region converge on our store for the best selection of swimming wetsuits and the most knowledgeable staff in the Northwest. For surfers, the breaks up here can be elusive, often known but seldom shown. Finding the right surfsuit with us is the easy part.
In the middle of all this activity is our company showroom, the only place where you can find every wetsuit ProMotion makes in stock and ready to go. Here, customers are relieved to find our knowledgeable staff ready to help. With wetsuits our main business, the employees at ProMotion provide the kind of expert service and advice that can only be gained from years of experience. This direct contact with watersports lovers of all kinds and all abilities is very helpful to us as well. Feedback and Input from customers has a major impact in each new wetsuit we design.
